The Invisible Orange is proud and excited to present its 10TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW!
This is a PARTY to celebrate a decade of bringing high quality shows to British Columbia.
So Raise your Metal Claw … and let us hear your scream!
This is a SHOWCASE of some of the best bands/friends who we have worked along though this journey, and big time fan favourites.
So Raise your Metal Claw … and headbang!
This is a THANK YOU to the fans who have supported the shows for all these years.
And to you … I raise my Metal Claw!
Archspire / GROSS MISCONDUCT / DEAD ASYLUM / Pyramidion / Torrefy
This band formed in 2009, same year as The Invisible Orange. That year we saw them rip the roof off the old Cobalt and Pat's Pub in their first shows. Shortly after we were able to engage in the first show with them when Archspire supported the iconic Canadian Metal band WOODS OF YPRES at the Biltmore Cabaret on June 29, 2010. Since then we have done together a large number of shows and continue to do so, now with the pleasure to have them headline this very special night. Also, PISS.
The first time I saw Gross Misconduct at the Croatian Cultural Centre, I think opening for Amon Amarth in 2007, I really thought these guys were a touring band. I was so happy to see that they were local and they were about to play some shows at the old Cobalt. Of course when there was a chance to collaborate with them once we had The Invisible Orange banner we made it happen. This was the METALYMPICS, during the Vancouver Winter Olympics where we had a great showcase of Canadian metal (plus Brutal Truth) on February 25, 2010. Fast-forward to today and I am friends now with one of my favourite bands, who also keep releasing amazing albums, even better than the previous every time. Like a fine wine, which hair gets shorter through the years.
Haven’t played a show in Vancouver since November 2017, this would be a full year and a half that we have not seen them in our city.
Shortly after being born in 2011, DEAD ASYLUM played their first tour support show with Toxic Holocaust, Anciients and Entropia; this show under The Invisible Orange banner at the now historical Funky Winkerbeans on May 18, 2012. Dead Asylum also performed at the Second Metal Cruise in 2015 and of course many more shows together.
Having worked with all the dudes in Pyramidion in their previous bands made it so cool to have them perform shows with The Invisible Orange since that show with PRONG at the Rickshaw on October 10, 2014. I think it was one of Pyramidion's very first shows ever with the Egyptian dresses and everything. Very memorable about a year after was the Insomnium show. Anyway, it's been a pleasure to know these guys who also represent a couple bands that have collaborated from start and even played the first metal cruise (Nylithia and Over The Coals). Fun fact: the cruise was an idea that materialized in 10 minutes while drinking at a birthday party with a couple of these guys! I remember drunk texting the guys in ExPain and getting their excited reply back. Great times!
We met these guys when they entered the Wacken Metal Battle 2015 and won their round in Victoria. Made it to Vancouver and then we invited them to play the Thrash Attack show at Funky Winker Beans where we got to pack the bar with a solid local lineup (well "local" with a band from Victoria and one from Chilliwack). After that we have seen them in a few other shows, like Havok, and also the Third and last Metal Cruise back in 2016. But now it's been a while really! What the hell guys, it's time Torrefy returns to Vancouver and what better time than to start off the night of Celebration for The Invisible Orange Anniversary!!!
